Clarington Amends Traffic By-law to Adjust Parking Fines

The General Government Committee of Clarington has approved amendments to the Traffic By-law as part of their recent meeting on December 2, 2024. The amendments specifically address changes to parking fines, particularly concerning vehicles parked in a manner that interferes with snow removal operations.

The committee resolved to increase the fine for vehicles parked in a way that obstructs snow removal. The new fines are set at $50 for the initial offense and $75 for subsequent offenses. This decision was made to ensure that snow removal operations can be conducted efficiently, minimizing disruptions during the winter months.
