Check It Out: Minds in Motion® Program at Bowmanville Older Adult Association

The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region is organizing the Minds in Motion® program at the Bowmanville Older Adult Association. The event is scheduled for August 14, 2024, at 1:15 PM, located at 26 Beech Ave, Bowmanville, ON L1C 3A2.

Minds in Motion® is a social program designed to provide physical and mental stimulation for individuals with early to mid-stage dementia and their care partners. The program includes gentle group exercises and social activities aimed at building personal skills and fostering new friendships.

The sessions run for two hours, once a week, over an eight-week period in various locations throughout Durham Region. Each session consists of 45-60 minutes of physical activities followed by 45-60 minutes of social activities.

Participants in the program can expect benefits such as improved balance, mobility, flexibility, and alertness. Additionally, the program aims to increase confidence and provide mutual support among participants.
