Check It Out: Minds in Motion Program at Bowmanville Older Adult Association

The Bowmanville Older Adult Association will host the Minds in Motion program on August 21, 2024, from 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm at 26 Beech Ave, Bowmanville, ON. This program is designed for individuals with early to mid-stage dementia and their care partners. It combines physical and mental activities to enhance participants' well-being.

The program runs for two hours, once a week, over eight weeks. Each session includes 45-60 minutes of gentle physical activities and 45-60 minutes of social activities aimed at building personal skills. Benefits for participants include improved balance, mobility, flexibility, and alertness, as well as increased confidence and mutual support from others facing similar experiences.

Care partners also benefit by focusing on their own health, enjoying activities with their partners, and gaining mutual support from other care partners.
