Lakeridge Health has achieved the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) Stage 6 certification, a significant advancement in digital healthcare services. This certification recognizes the organization's efforts to improve patient care through advanced electronic medical record systems.

Dr. Ilan Lenga, Chief Information Officer at Lakeridge Health, highlighted the importance of reaching this stage in EMRAM, noting that it demonstrates progress in integrating technology into healthcare practices. Dr. Larry Nijmeh, Chief Medical Information Officer, emphasized the practical benefits, stating that the certification facilitates better data access for patients and clinical teams, leading to improved health histories and informed medical decisions.

The EMRAM model includes eight stages for adopting and using electronic medical record technologies. Stage 6 signifies a near-complete electronic health environment, which is expected to bring enhancements in patient safety and health outcomes.
