Check It Out: Free Public Skate at Orono Arena
The Orono Arena & Community Centre will host a free public skating event on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. This event marks the start of the public skating season and is sponsored by Ontario Power Generation's (OPG) Darlington New Nuclear Project. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet members of the project team and learn about the advancements in Small Module Reactor (SMR) technology, which OPG claims to be the future of nuclear power generation in Canada. The event is free of charge and aims to engage the community with the ongoing developments at the Darlington site.
