Charges Laid Against Two Males Following Traffic Stop in Oshawa
Two males are facing fraud-related charges following a traffic stop in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the East Division Community Response Unit conducted a proactive patrol in the area of Stevenson Road South and Gibb Street. During this patrol, they stopped a vehicle for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver of the vehicle refused to identify himself.
As a result of the investigation, both males in the vehicle were detained, and numerous counterfeit identity documents were discovered and seized.
The following charges have been laid against the individuals involved:
- Jeremie Lefrancois, age 24 from Quebec, is charged with:
- Possession of Forged Passport (x2)
- Possession of Identify Document (x9)
- Possession of Identity Information with Intent to Commit Fraud (x3)
- Eugene Caisse, age 29 from Quebec, is charged with:
- Possession of Forged Passport (x1)
- Possession of Identify Document (x10)
- Possession of Identity Information with Intent to Commit Fraud (x3)
- Possession of Credit Card (x2)
Both individuals were held for a bail hearing.
