Charges Laid After Altercation at Pickering Restaurant
Two individuals were charged following an altercation at a restaurant in Pickering. On October 9, 2024, at approximately 1:35 a.m., police from the West Division responded to a call regarding an armed person at the New Knight’s Corner Pub and Grill, located at 605 Kingston Road. The incident involved two males who were reportedly throwing glassware at each other inside the establishment. During the altercation, one of the individuals had part of his ear bitten off. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident and were later transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The individuals charged are Todd Downey, 44, from Pickering, who faces charges of aggravated assault, and Nigel Worrell, 49, from Toronto, who is charged with assault causing bodily harm. Both individuals have been released on an undertaking. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
