Charges Filed in Uxbridge Vehicle Theft Case

A male and female are facing charges following the discovery of multiple stolen vehicles near their residence in Uxbridge.

On March 4, 2024, members of the North Division responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the vicinity of Brewster Road and Concession Road 5. Two stolen SUVs were found unoccupied and subsequently seized.

On April 16, 2024, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle report at a property in the same area. Investigators were informed that several newer vehicles were parked in an agricultural area on the property. With permission from the property owner, officers searched the area and located four stolen vehicles. A search warrant for adjacent fields led to the recovery of three additional stolen vehicles, two of which had altered vehicle identification numbers.

On August 30, 2024, members of Project Attire, assisted by the North Division Community Response Team, concluded their investigation and arrested two individuals renting a home on the property.

Benn Taylor Raddysh, age 23 from Uxbridge, is charged with nine counts of possessing property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking over $5,000 and two counts of altering a vehicle identification number.

Alexandra Mekhdi Gamsari, age 21 from Uxbridge, faces the same charges as Raddysh. Both individuals were released on an Undertaking.

The Durham Regional Police Service's Project Attire is a specialized unit focused on auto theft investigations and recovery within Durham Region. This initiative collaborates with the Équité Association, a non-profit organization aimed at combating insurance crime related to auto theft.
