CFIA Recalls Hummus Products Over Undeclared Peanuts
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced a recall of certain hummus products due to undeclared peanut content. The affected products are under the brands Buy-Low Foods, Nesters Market, and Save On Foods, specifically the "Masala Hummus" and "Tapenade Hummus" varieties.
These products were distributed across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Yukon. According to the agency, the recall was initiated following their testing that revealed the presence of peanuts not declared on the product labels.
There are currently no reported allergic reactions connected to the consumption of these products. The CFIA is continuing its investigation, which may lead to further recalls if other affected products are identified. Actions are underway to remove the recalled items from the market effectively.
