Cedar Crest Beach Erosion and Property Loss Study Funded

On November 25, 2019, the General Government Committee of Clarington discussed the allocation of up to $30,000 from the Tax Rate Stabilization Reserve Fund for a Cedar Crest Beach Erosion and Property Loss Study. The consulting assignment for this study is to be sole sourced to Zuzek Inc. The objectives of the study include assessing the extent of erosion and property loss at Cedar Crest Beach, which is a significant concern for local homeowners and the broader community. The committee resolved that staff would report back to Council with the results of the study once it is completed. This decision was made in light of ongoing concerns regarding the impact of erosion on waterfront properties in the area.
