Canadian Space Technologies to Feature in 2025 Lunar Mission
On March 2, 2025, Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Mission 1 aims to demonstrate advancing Canadian space technologies by landing on the Moon. During this mission, advancements from three Canadian companies, funded by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) through the Lunar Exploration Accelerator Program, will be showcased.
Canadensys Aerospace Corporation will deploy a narrow field-of-view sample imaging system to provide enhanced imaging capabilities on the lunar surface. NGC Aerospace Ltd. will operate a global lunar navigation system designed to improve precise lunar navigation. Additionally, Integrity Testing Laboratory Inc. plans to test material samples to assess how lunar dust adheres to various materials, a key challenge for extended lunar operations.
The technologies featured have received significant funding and support from the CSA, highlighting Canada's contributions to ongoing lunar exploration efforts.
