Canada Imposes Tariffs on U.S. Goods in Response to Trade Measures

On March 4, 2025, the Government of Canada announced the imposition of a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of goods imported from the United States. According to the Canadian government, these tariffs are in response to recent U.S. tariffs on Canadian exports. The initial list of targeted goods from the U.S. totals $30 billion. This announcement was made by Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
