Brock Street North Resurfacing in Whitby Underway
The Regional Municipality of Durham is conducting resurfacing work on Brock Street North in Whitby. The project will cover the area from 350 metres south of Manning Road to 170 metres north of Rossland Road (Regional Road 28). The work includes curb and gutter replacements, adjustments to catch basin and maintenance hole structures, road paving, and new pavement markings.
Forest Contractors, the Region’s contractor, began the work on July 31 and expects to complete it by August 30. The schedule may change due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Daily lane restrictions will be in place throughout the project to ensure safety and efficiency. Drivers should anticipate delays within the construction zone. The use of construction equipment may cause noticeable noise and vibration for nearby residents. The Region aims to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible and asks drivers to exercise additional caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and construction workers.
