Brampton Man Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor

A 36-year-old male from Brampton has been charged following an investigation into the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in North Durham. The investigation began on October 29, 2024, led by the Special Victim’s Unit. The accused, identified as Jason Bent, was taken into custody on October 31, 2024, by the Offender Management Unit.

Bent faces multiple charges, including Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, and Possession of Child Pornography. He is also charged with agreeing to commit offences against persons under the ages of 18 and 16. He was held for a bail hearing.
