Bragg Farms will host a "Dig Your Own Potato and Sweet Potato" event on the following dates:
- Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
The event will take place at 3048 Concession Road 3, Bowmanville. There is no admission fee to enter the farm. Upon arrival, participants can choose to purchase either a burlap sack or a basket for collecting potatoes.
The farm offers Yellow and Red Skin Potatoes, as well as Sweet Potatoes. Attendees will be transported to the fields via tractor ride, where experienced farmers will provide a tutorial on how to dig for the potatoes. Participants are encouraged to keep the potatoes dirty until they are ready to eat.
For storage, it is recommended to keep the potatoes cool and dry to ensure they last throughout the winter. Additionally, sweet potato baked goods will be available for purchase at the farm.
