ATM Theft at Pickering Mall Involves Stolen Backhoe

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 3:45 a.m., a break-in occurred at the Shops at Pickering City Centre, located at 1355 Kingston Road. Four individuals used a stolen construction backhoe loader to force entry into the mall. Once inside, they destroyed one ATM and removed another from the TD Bank. The suspects left the scene in a white Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

The Durham Regional Police Service is seeking assistance from the public. They are requesting any cell phone, dash cam, or surveillance footage that might provide additional information about the incident. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, where tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations have not yet been proven in court.
