Arrest Made in Bowmanville Sexual Assault Case
On October 6, 2024, a sexual assault incident occurred in Bowmanville. A female victim reported meeting a male suspect through the dating app Tinder, who then connected her with another male on Snapchat. The suspect, using the username "Moses" on Snapchat, visited the victim's residence and allegedly committed the assault. The suspect left the scene on foot before police arrived.
The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) identified and arrested the suspect, Moises Grisales, age 21, from Whitchurch-Stouffville, on November 12, 2024. Grisales faces charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement. He was released on an undertaking.
The DRPS has expressed concerns that there may be additional victims and is encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Constable Duguay of the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers.
The allegations against Grisales have not yet been proven in court.
