Arrest Made Following Shooting Incident in Pickering

A male has been arrested following a shooting incident in Pickering. The event occurred on Monday, September 9, 2024, at approximately 6:35 a.m. in the vicinity of Sapphire Drive and Dragonfly Avenue. According to the Durham Regional Police Service, the suspect discharged a firearm at a parked vehicle before fleeing the scene on foot. Police conducted a search of the area and located the suspect, who attempted to evade capture. During the pursuit, the suspect discarded a handgun into a nearby green space. The police subsequently apprehended him, and the handgun was recovered and seized.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Authorities classified the incident as isolated.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Liam Jacob Miller-North from Pickering, faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possess Loaded Firearm

  • Mischief Over $5000
