Arrest Made Following Convenience Store Robbery in Oshawa
A 28-year-old male has been arrested following a robbery at a convenience store in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers from the Central East Division responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K located at 1051 Simcoe Street North. The suspect entered the store and took a quantity of cigarettes. When a witness attempted to block the exit, the suspect displayed a box cutter and fled the scene.
No physical injuries were reported during the incident.
Michael Beggs, age 28, of Oshawa, faces ten charges, including:
- Uttering Threats – Death (x2)
- Assault with a Weapon
- Robbery with an Offensive Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
He was held for a bail hearing.
