Apprenticeship Registrations and Certifications Rise in Canada for 2023

Apprenticeship programs in Canada have shown signs of recovery in 2023, with new registrations and certifications continuing to rise. According to Statistics Canada, there were 70,521 new registrations in apprenticeship programs across Canada, excluding Alberta, marking an 8.0% increase from 2022 and surpassing the pre-pandemic level of 2019. The number of Canadians receiving certificates in trades increased by 3.0% to 42,021 in 2023, although this number remains below the pre-pandemic level of 2019.
