Amendment to OPG License Agreement for Playing Fields Approved

The General Government Committee of Clarington approved an amendment to the Ontario Power Generation (OPG) License Agreement for playing fields during their meeting on November 6, 2023. The resolution, identified as GG-184-23, authorized the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/Solicitor to execute the "Third Licence Amending Agreement" with OPG. The terms and conditions of this agreement are to be substantially consistent with the contents of Report LGS-029-23. Additionally, the Deputy CAO/Municipal Solicitor is authorized to execute any future amendments to the License Agreement that may be necessary to accommodate the operational needs of either OPG or the Municipality. This decision was made to ensure the continued management and usage of community recreational facilities, which are deemed vital for public well-being. All interested parties were to be advised of the Council's decision as outlined in the report.
