All-Way Stop to be Installed at Highway 2 and Newtonville Road
The Regional Municipality of Durham, in collaboration with the Municipality of Clarington, is set to install a new all-way stop at the intersection of Regional Highway 2 and Newtonville Road (Regional Road 18) in Clarington. This installation is part of the Durham Vision Zero initiative, which aims to enhance road safety.
The installation is scheduled for November 14, although adverse weather conditions could affect the timeline. The new traffic control measure will require vehicles approaching the intersection from all directions to stop and yield to the first vehicle or road user that has come to a complete stop.
Durham Vision Zero is a strategy involving multiple agencies, focused on creating safer roads for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
