Ajax Man Charged Following Road Rage Incident

On October 25, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call regarding an armed individual in Ajax, specifically near Rossland Road West and Harwood Avenue North. The incident involved a confrontation following the illegal parking of a vehicle in a fire route at a plaza. During the altercation, a suspect allegedly threatened another individual with a knife. Police arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect without further incident. The victim was unharmed physically.

The suspect, identified as Carl Nelson, 32, from Ajax, faces charges of uttering threats and assault with a weapon. Nelson was released on an undertaking pending further legal proceedings.

The Durham Regional Police Service has requested that anyone with additional information about the incident contact Constables Brayiannis or Gillings of the West Division Community Resource Unit. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, with potential eligibility for a cash reward.

It is important to note that the charges are based on allegations that have not yet been proven in court.
