Agreement to Establish Cricket Pitch Overlay at Rickard Neighbourhood Park

The General Government Committee of Clarington has agreed to establish a cricket pitch overlay on the municipal soccer field at Rickard Neighbourhood Park in Newcastle. This decision was made during the meeting held on January 10, 2022. The committee resolved that staff would collaborate with local advocates, specifically Mr. Yasi Majid and Dr. Naveed Tariq, to facilitate the establishment of the cricket pitch. Additionally, the committee has directed staff to coordinate the development of an agreement with one of the School Boards in Courtice to establish a cricket pitch overlay on one of their existing sports fields. All interested parties will be informed of the council's decision.
