28-Year-Old Arrested in Oshawa for Drug and Firearm Offenses
A 28-year-old man, identified as Cody Browning-Churchill, was arrested following a police investigation into drug trafficking and firearm offenses in Oshawa. The operation was conducted by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) as part of their focus on gun and drug-related crimes.
The arrest occurred early on March 15th, when police stopped the suspect's vehicle at the intersection of Clements Road West and Harwood Avenue South in Ajax. Subsequent to this, officers executed search warrants on the vehicle and a residence near Marland Avenue and Montrave Avenue.
During their search, authorities recovered a loaded handgun with an overcapacity magazine, along with over 360 grams of cocaine and 110 grams of MDMA.
Browning-Churchill is facing several charges, including possession of a Schedule I substance with the intent to traffic, possessing a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, and occupying a vehicle with such a weapon present. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
