21-Year-Old Charged with Sexual Offences Against a Minor

A 21-year-old male has been arrested and charged with sexual offences involving a minor, according to the Durham Regional Police Service's Human Trafficking Unit (HTU). The arrest was part of an investigation that began on February 7, 2025, when authorities learned about the grooming of a 14-year-old girl for human trafficking.

Police reports indicate that the suspect contacted the victim via Snapchat, falsely representing himself as an 18-year-old named "Ace." Despite the victim's disclosure of her age, interactions with the suspect continued and led to multiple meetings.

The Durham Regional Police are investigating the possibility of additional victims coming forward, as suggested by their ongoing inquiries. The focus remains on addressing incidents related to human trafficking and the safeguarding of minors in the area.
