14-Year-Old Charged Following Oshawa Stabbing Incident

A 14-year-old boy faces charges after a stabbing incident in Oshawa on February 14, 2025. The Durham Region Police Service reported the event occurred around 10:40 p.m. in the area of Rideau Street and Saguenay Avenue. Police indicated that the incident began when a homeowner confronted a male and female in his backyard. During the confrontation, the male suspect is alleged to have stabbed the homeowner, resulting in a wound to the upper arm. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. Officers apprehended the suspect nearby shortly after the incident. The 14-year-old has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He has been released under an Undertaking according to the police. As with all charges, these allegations must be proven in a court of law.
